David Kim, after several years of pioneering in the Internet and technology space in the US and throughout Asia, currently serves as the Chairman of Animoca Corporation, one of the largest mobile app developer and publisher in the world with its affiliate listed in Australia (ASX:AB1). Concurrently, he manages and oversees several financing and advisory projects ranging from private equity investments to refinancing of distressed assets. Previously, Mr. Kim served as the CEO of mail.com Corporation, a leading personalized email and messenger service. In recent years, he has advised, chaired and served on the Boards of many prominent companies around the Pacific Rim including Outblaze Corporation, Sanrio Digital Corporation and Turnout Ventures in Hong Kong, Viztel of Malaysia and Markany, Inc. and Daum Corporation in Korea, where after 7 years of service as the vice chairman of the Board, he spearheaded the acquisition of Lycos, Inc, his former employer. After the transaction, Mr. Kim managed the integration of the acquisition as the CEO of Lycos. Previous to these recent activities, Mr. Kim served as a Managing Director with Softbank, Inc., where he focused on the development of Softbank’s activities in Asia, ex-Japan, taking responsibility for venture capital activities in Greater China, Korea and Southeast Asia as a founding partner for Softbank’s Asian Funds. He oversaw the roll-outs of Softbank affiliated companies in the U.S. into Asia and coordinated between the various Softbank entities throughout the world. While at Softbank, Mr. Kim was also briefly seconded to techpacific.com as a Managing Director and CEO of techpacific Venture Capital, a Softbank affiliate. Mr. Kim took charge of many strategic and tactical initiatives of the company, including the IPO of techpacific.com, the formation of techpacific Venture Capital.
